This is the blacksmith in the guild city that specializes in high quality weapons and armor. Everything he makes is made to order, with the exact specifications of the client in mind. Few people have ever met or talked to Old Man Thurgo, the shop is run by a construct that takes customer orders and measurements. > [!note] Rumors > The rumors say that *Old Man Thurgo* is a dwarf from the [[Ondor Mountains]] that only speaks [[Dwarvish]], people assume this is why he has the construct, made for him by the [[Kalowei Thurdus|Guildmaster]]. > The shop itself, [[Thurgo's]] is very barren except for the mechanical whirring and buzzing of the construct that works at the counter. Looking around at the walls, there are very few goods for sale or on display. The room itself is small, with only a small entry way that leads up to a nicely kept and intricately carved wooden counter. The heat of the forge along with the sounds of bellows, hammering, quenched metal, and more rise from the basement. Painted on the wall behind the construct is some thin, elegantly drawn black Dwarvish text that reads "Only the finest. Prices set upon completion, all prices final." If players approach the construct, it does not greet them or respond when they speak. It waits for the player to tell the construct what they want, then it springs into action taking all appropriate measurements. The player can be as specific as they want. All of this information is meticulously taken down in Dwarvish on parchment which is delivered to Old Man Thurgo to produce the goods. Old Man Thurgo then makes the item and sets a price. The price is non-negotiable and the orderer agrees to pay the price upon ordering the item. Old Man Thurgo will refuse to make them anything else if they refuse to pay the price, and after some time the item goes up for general sale at a discount. If that occurs, the character is banned from Old Man Thurgo's store. If the player asks for a basic item (nonmagical), the construct opens the hatch on its stomach, revealing the furnace inside, and calmly deposits the paper, closes the hatch, and hands the player a pamphlet to NORMAL BLACKSMITH - [ ] TODO Figure out normal blacksmith info In the basement works Old Man Thurgo, a kindly, albeit mischievous and manipulative, fire genasi woman named NAME.
